Rustic, quirky and earthy get my attention. Days may be hot or cold, sunny, cloudy or rainy (under shelter or indoors.) Any season and any place work for me; especially out in the country.
People
Included here are several groups of subjects. Shortly after the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, I participated in an arts conference there with Ukrainian and United States artists. Many of my fellow artists were my willing models at the conference. Others I painted later from photographs. Next are a few results from model sessions. During a brief stay at a villa outside of Padua, Italy, we learned there was a cooking school going on concurrently. They allowed me to paint them from an adjacent hallway. Once I was asked to follow a bride around during her photography shoot, to painting as I went. I inherited boxes of family photos. I painted quite a lot from them. Here are some couples I particularly liked and wondered about.
